Your Security Has Been Upgraded: Innago Now Powered by Auth0 and Sift
October 24, 2025
By: Christa Niemann
This move represents a significant investment in the security and integrity of your account, delivering immediate benefits and advanced protection starting today. In this article, we’ll discuss exactly what this means for you and how your security has been upgraded.
What This Upgrade Means For You
This upgrade brings several powerful security enhancements to your Innago account, giving you greater peace of mind.
Advanced Threat Protection
Auth0’s platform actively identifies and blocks suspicious activity before it can affect you. This means there’s less worry for you, as our system actively detects and thwarts common threats such as:
- Credential Stuffing: Actively blocks attempts by malicious actors to use stolen passwords from other websites to access your Innago account.
- Bot Attacks: Automated attempts to breach accounts are identified and blocked immediately, protecting your information from large-scale attacks.
Account Takeover Protection with Sift
We’ve integrated Sift directly into our new Auth0 login flow to stop account takeovers in real time. This intelligent system analyzes behavior to spot signs of a compromised account. If a login attempt looks unusual (for example, coming from a new device in a different country moments after you logged in from home) the system can automatically block it or require additional verification. This intelligent defense layer ensures only you can access your account.
Payment Abuse Protection
More Powerful Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Push Notifications: Approve logins with a simple tap on your smartphone.
- Biometrics: Use Face ID, Touch ID, or Windows Hello for fast and secure access.
- Security Keys: Support for hardware keys like YubiKey (a physical USB security device) for the highest level of account security.
Throughout November, we'll be rolling out enrollment options for additional MFA methods, giving you even more ways to secure your account.
The Option to Go Passwordless
What to Expect Next
Over the next week, we will be completing the migration for all remaining accounts. For the vast majority of users, this transition will be completely seamless, and your property data and files remain completely unchanged—only the login system is being upgraded.
However, due to the complexities of migrating to a more advanced security platform, a small number of users may be prompted to reset their password upon their next login. If you encounter this, please follow the simple on-screen instructions. This is a one-time step to ensure your account is fully synchronized with our new, more secure platform, providing you with the highest level of protection.
Coming Soon: Even More Security and Convenience
This migration is just the beginning. We’re continuing to enhance your security and user experience with these upcoming features.
Step-Up Authentication (Coming Soon)
We'll be introducing step-up authentication, which requires stronger verification when accessing sensitive areas of your account—such as security settings, bank account information, or payment details. This means that even if someone gains access to your account, they'll face an additional security checkpoint before accessing your most critical information.
Multiple Organizations, One Login (December)
Later this year, we're adding the ability to access multiple organizations through a single Innago login. This will make life easier for many of our users:
- Property Owners with Multi-State Operations: Manage separate organizations for properties in different states—all from one login, no more juggling multiple accounts.
- Users with Multiple Roles: Easily switch between roles. For example, if you're a property owner who also rents a storage unit from another Innago customer, you can access both organizations seamlessly.
Previously, managing multiple organizations required separate email addresses and phone numbers. Soon, one login will give you access to everything.
Security Best Practices
- Using a unique, strong password for Innago
- Keeping your email account secure (since it's used for account recovery)

FAQs
Do I need to do anything right now?
For most users, no action is required. If you're prompted to reset your password on your next login, simply follow the on-screen instructions. Otherwise, you can continue using Innago as normal.
Will my property data be affected?
No. Only the login system is being upgraded. Your properties, documents, financial data, and all other information remain completely unchanged and secure.
How do I enable multi-factor authentication (MFA)?
Auth0 will dynamically prompt MFA if required. You don't need to do anything! We'll take care of it for you. This is called 'Adaptive MFA' and it is actually considered more secure than traditional, 'Always On MFA'. Here's an article if you're curious to read more.
What if I encounter issues during login?
Our support team is standing by to help with any questions or issues during this transition. Contact us at support@innago.com or call (513) 964-0172.
Why are you making this change?
This upgrade significantly strengthens your account security with advanced threat detection, fraud prevention, and more flexible authentication options. It represents our ongoing commitment to protecting your data with industry-leading security standards.
When will the migration be complete?
We're completing the migration in phases over the next week. Many users have already been migrated seamlessly, and all accounts will be on the new system soon.
