How Can You Further Secure Your Innago Account?
Protecting sensitive data is more critical than ever for U.S. business owners, including landlords.
Last August, Statista reported that over 53 million individuals were affected by data breaches in the U.S. in the first half of 2022 alone. Companies such as Yahoo, Twitter, and Samsung were all subject to data breaches. As cyber-crime continues to rise, the need for superior security becomes ever more urgent.
Thankfully, there are preventative measures you can take. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is one such measure. In a 2021 survey by Duo, 79% of respondents report having used two factor authentication in the past year, compared to 53% in previous years. As more business owners learn the benefits of 2FA, its use expands to more sectors of the economy.
You need ways to protect your rental business, you and your tenants’ information, and your livelihood. Innago is happy to offer two-factor authentication to help you secure your data and feel safe storing it on the cloud.
When enabled, 2FA requires you and your employees to use two methods of identity verification before logging onto your account.
Here are a few of the many advantages of 2FA for landlords:
1. Increased Security
We believe that our users deserve the top security and peace of mind when it comes to their data. That’s why we’re offering a feature that protects sensitive information, reduces fraud, and decreases the chances of your identity being compromised.
2. Easy Implementation
2FA is a simple tool that only takes minutes to set up. After enabling the feature, when anyone attempts to log onto your account, you’ll receive an SMS message to verify your identity. It’s quick, efficient, and worth the few extra seconds it takes.
3. Work Flexibility
Remote work is here to stay in 2023. When you and your employees aren’t working from the office, the risk of data breaches is higher. 2FA provides security for remote workers and gives you the flexibility to work wherever you feel most productive.
How does this feature work?
Two-factor authentication is a feature that provides an additional layer of protection for all Innago users. It strengthens security by requiring two methods of identity verification whenever you log into Innago.
Our goal is to verify that a user is who they say they are, protecting you from people who might try to login to your account with unauthorized access while also safeguarding you from any data breaches and cyberattacks.
To enable two-factor authentication for your Innago account, follow the steps below:
- From the Innago menu on the left, click on the ‘Settings’ gear icon located at the bottom right-hand corner of the page.
- Next, select ‘Security’ from the menu options.
- From the top-right hand corner of the screen, click ‘Enable 2FA’.
- A pop-up will appear on the screen. First, verify that you are still using the existing phone number that is associated with your Innago account. If you don’t have access to the phone number associated with your Innago account, we provide you with the option to update your phone number right from here. Next, click ‘Enable’.
- The Two Factor Authentication feature should be successfully enabled on your account!
The next time you log into Innago, we’ll send you a verification code on your phone number to confirm that it’s you.
Conclusion
Innago’s two-factor authentication feature is security made simple for landlords. By enabling it, you’ll worry less about identity fraud and more about what matters—pursuing your real estate goals. Have the peace of mind you’ve always wanted while managing your rentals online with Innago.
